It began when my daughter, Poppy, was born, and I realized my accessories no longer worked for my new life as a mom. I needed bags with pockets and organization that still looked great and also delivered real functionality. When I couldn’t find what I wanted, I decided to make it myself. That’s how Poppy & Peonies started in 2015. Since then, we’ve grown from packing orders in my basement to appearing on Dragons’ Den, and now expanding into new product categories while collaborating with exciting influencers and brands. It hasn’t always been smooth, but because of our wonderful community, we’ve never felt more supported and appreciated.
We care deeply about the environment and are committed to protecting the health and wellbeing of our planet and the animals living on it. That’s why all our bags are made with high-quality vegan leather, and our full product range is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved. We ship our products plastic-free and use a mix of recycled, compostable, and biodegradable materials to reduce shipping waste. As our Community Coordinator, you’ll be the voice of Poppy & Peonies. You’ll play an essential role on Poppy & Peonies’ growing marketing team by helping manage our social community day to day. Reporting directly to the Social Marketing Specialist, this role is all about strengthening our connection with our audience and making sure every interaction feels personal, timely, and consistent with our brand.
You’ll help bring our brand to life through conversation—engaging with our audience in real time, responding to comments and DMs, and building a strong, loyal community. This role allows the Social Marketing Specialist to focus on higher-level strategy, growth initiatives, and content direction, while ensuring a best-in-class experience across all social touchpoints. Your work will directly shape how customers experience Poppy & Peonies every day. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in social media, community management, and digital brand growth.
The Opportunity:
– Be present and actively engaged across all social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more), responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a timely, brand-appropriate way
– Build real relationships through thoughtful, engaging, personalized interactions
– Provide customer support via social channels by answering questions about products, orders, and general inquiries
– Escalate complex or sensitive customer issues to the right internal teams when needed
– Engage beyond inbound messages by liking, commenting, and participating in conversations to strengthen community connection
– Monitor brand mentions and ongoing conversations to ensure no engagement opportunities are missed
– Track community sentiment, trends, and recurring feedback, and share insights with the team
– Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and brand-aligned online environment
– Work closely with the Social Marketing Specialist to ensure smooth execution and enable focus on strategy and growth
What You Bring to the Table:
– 1–2+ years of experience in community management, customer service, or social media
– Strong knowledge of social platforms, and you’re highly active online (including Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook)
– Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adjust tone to match the brand voice
– A genuine enjoyment of connecting with people and creating positive customer experiences
– Responsive, organized, and able to manage multiple conversations at once
– A customer-first mindset with empathy, positivity, and strong attention to detail
– Proactive—more than just replying, you build relationships through engagement
– Collaborative and able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
– Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
– Detail-oriented, with strong organization and time-management skills

Location:
This is fully remote across North America. While the role is remote, there may be some domestic or international travel for team gatherings and events.
Salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year.
Total Rewards:
– Annual salary range: $50,000–$60,000 CAD
– 3 weeks of paid vacation per year
– 5 additional flex days
– $1,500 CAD annual health spending account
– $250 CAD annual period & menstrual budget
– $1,000 CAD annual allowance toward Poppy & Peonies products, plus a $400 CAD home office setup allowance
