River needs a co-founder to enter first investor rounds and start implementing the concept of our product called Join.
We are looking for a software engineer with a computer science degree. The ideal candidate will have experience with the mathematics of swarm behaviour, probability algorithms and data analysis, or at least a vivid interest in this area.
“Join” is a new product that is unlike anything that is currently available on the market. It is a software that connects people on the go, based on motivation, intention and location. With your help, River will develop its core algorithms that will build the foundation of a number of products, starting with Project Join.
As a co-founder you join River’s founder, Henning von Vogelsang, an experienced leader in product development and user experience.
This is obviously not just a job, or another start-up trying to build yet another social network. River is aiming to improve areas of togetherness, collaboration, communication. We are going to rewrite the way people are interacting in their lives.
Your role will be to spearhead and lead engineering, to make keystone technology decisions, to develop the algorithms and to direct their implementation. Furthermore it is a role that extends responsibility in building, overseeing and directing a team of engineers, which builds and nurtures the data foundation we build our business on, as well as the consumer products we develop.
The position is available worldwide, but we will build our team in the Northern California area, close to San Francisco. Salary and shares will be negotiable. Contact River and we will be happy to tell you more.
To be clear: this is about co-founding a startup. Like Drew Houston and Arash Ferdowsi, or Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, we will be partners who will both invest our energy and time until we have a product we can demonstrate to investors. No outsourcing, no partnerships with tech companies, or “we can build it” applications.
