HTML to WordPress (https://htmltowordpress.io) is a powerful, yet simple webapp that converts any HTML website to a WordPress theme – revolutionising the way WordPress websites are being created.
Why are we doing this (aka “the problem”)? Maintaining and extending static HTML sites is cumbersome for non-technical people Converting a static HTML design into a working WordPress theme takes too much time It’s too expensive to pay a developer in-house or outsource the conversion development No easy or effective way exists to automate this process
HTML to WordPress offers a premium quality solution to these problems for a fraction of the usual costs involved.
There are 50,000 WordPress websites being created each day and we’re on a mission to capture that market. We’ve already converted thousands of websites and cannot keep up with demand of requested features and improvements. This is where you come in: we’re looking for a full-stack web developer with a focus and interest on backend technologies to take our cloud-based conversion process to the next level.
Because of our early stage you’ll get to make influential decisions and have impact over how to approach any given problem. As such you’ll be a very important team member of an early stage startup and make a difference to the culture as well as the product greatly.
Skill requirements: Focused on backend technologies with deep knowledge of PHP and WordPress theme/plugin development In-depth knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript Passion for automating repetitive tasks, solving dynamic challenges and building highly scalable systems
Mentality requirements: Startup experience preferred A scrappy, ‘lets get shit done’ attitude that completes quality projects quickly Passion for great user experiences, with a LEAN and analytics driven attitude Confidence learning new things and programming languages, we love generalists Driven, focused self-starters who take ownership of their work Detail focused with a structured approach to delivering code You want to conquer the fucking world and aren’t afraid to go after it with us!
Bonus points if you have: Experience with Composer, npm, Bower, Gulp, Git and LAMP Insightful opinions about systems architecture Ability to find and debug a variety of problems during emergency situations
You will be compensated with an equity/salary package that is negotiated with the chosen candidate. Four year vesting period with a one year cliff. We’re currently self-funded, but looking to join an accelerator and/or seed funding. In such case it would be preferable for you to be available to move to another country for 3 – 6 months with the rest of the team.
