Position Overview
Our technology team is seeking a data engineer to help develop and maintain our data architecture. In this role, you will focus on sustaining and improving our organizational data platform. Responsibilities include understanding data requirements, building platform integrations with various applications, supporting data migration, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to governance and maintenance. Success in this role requires the ability to evaluate new data system needs, build pipelines, and support end-to-end enterprise data functions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing data architectures using data lakes, marts, warehouses, and databases.
What You’ll Be Working On
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Contributing to the design, configuration, and deployment of robust data platform solutions and pipelines for storing and accessing data across multiple applications, mainly using the Azure stack, with integrations to AWS and Google BigQuery.
• Supporting database setup to ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards such as 21 CFR Part 11.
• Assisting with the installation and organization of information systems to ensure smooth operations, including building detailed topology, and helping migrate data from legacy environments to new systems.
• Monitoring system performance through routine testing, issue resolution, and feature integration.
• Meeting stakeholder requirements to ensure data systems align with organizational needs.
• Providing staff training and timely responses to system-related issues.
Physical and Travel Requirements
• This is a remote position with less than 10% travel. Occasional planned travel may be required.
What You Bring
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering; or relevant certifications in database administration or big data systems.
• Experience: 2–4 years designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring data systems supporting ETL/ELT processes.
• Technical Skills:
– Strong proficiency with Azure data tools and common languages, including Data Factory, Data Lake, Azure SQL Databases, Power BI, SQL, and Python.
– Hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark.
– Comfort working with data formats such as JSON, Parquet, and HL7.
– Familiarity with API integrations.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication abilities and technical writing skills.
Certifications/Licenses, Education, and Experience:
• 2–4 years of experience as a data engineer or similar role.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle, cloud infrastructure, database querying, ETL processes, and continuous deployment.
