Desired Profile
The company owns and sells . Inc top-level domains. They actually own these domains (unlike say godaddy) and want to put in place tools and systems that help customers with the jobs-to-be-done including
- choosing brand, company name
- identifying best urls available
- monitoring and protecting their brand online
The team is small so the need for a senior person is less about managing other people than having a technical/strategic leadership and someone who can conceptually map what the business is trying to do into solutions.
An excellent communicator and someone who can drive the business team towards value all the time is required. The role is very flexible. 100% remote. Time of day is flexible too, just as long as we communicate at a few key times. Working with experienced product people.

Responsibilities
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code
- Design robust, scalable and secure features
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, SCRUM, refactoring, code standards)
- Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Minimum four years proven working experience in developing applications with Ruby on Rails
- Proven working experience in software development
- Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS & JQuery
- Experience developing highly interactive applications
- Be able to design technical solutions to business problems
- A firm grasp of object oriented analysis and design
- Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
- Be comfortable working in a domain where problem and solution are not completely certain. Flexibility in thinking with the ability to embrace changes in the business is key.
- Good knowledge of relational databases
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, with an ability to influence and drive other team members where required.
- Interest and experience in algorithms, big data and machine learning are desirable but not essential
