We are a biotech startup looking to hire a Content Manager to lead content creation for our website, which is currently under construction.
We are seeking candidates who can think creatively and analytically. Content Manager responsibilities include producing and publishing content, writing, editing, and proofreading, developing content strategies and plans, and performing other related tasks.
Content Managers should be comfortable finding innovative ways to build an online presence while also using analytics to inform content strategy. In this role, “content” includes:
– Website content pages—botany-related and other topics
– Blog posts—botany-related and other topics
– Product pages—botany-related
– FAQ pages—botany-related and other topics
**Content Manager Responsibilities:**
– Conduct in-depth research on topics of interest, including various types of botany (not limited to this)
– Write **original content**; plagiarism and copying from other sources are strongly discouraged
– Edit and proofread content
– Create and follow a content plan
– Develop a cross-platform content strategy when needed (website + social media)
– Brainstorm with team members to generate new ideas
– Build a strong SEO strategy using organic content
– Provide editorial and creative support to team members as needed
– Track basic web analytics to measure content engagement
– Manage content across all platforms, including email and social media
– Prepare and send newsletters regularly as agreed within the marketing strategy
**Content Manager Requirements:**
– Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a similar role on the client side or agency side
– Demonstrated experience building content-driven websites; examples will be required during the application process
– Naturally curious, self-motivated, and passionate about engaging with natural science topics, including botany and horticulture
– Experience with keyword placement and on-page SEO best practices
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Experience managing social media
– Creativity and the ability to develop original content
– Ability to create content that drives engagement
– Strong leadership and initiative
**Nice to Have:**
– Experience or a track record in botany, natural sciences, taxonomy, or scientific writing
– Advanced knowledge of HTML
– Proficiency with popular content management systems
**Location / Other Requirements:**
– We are a location-independent team and work mostly asynchronously. We focus on results and discourage micromanagement. To overlap with our Asian and European teams, we prefer candidates located between GMT+7 and GMT time zones.
