About Our Team:

The AdRoll Billing, Payment, Accounting and Finance Engineering team is a (very) small but resourceful group responsiblefora critical part ofAdRoll’s platform. Building, expanding, and supporting AdRoll’s automated billing system and it’s many complementaryintegrationsis a complex task that requires strong reasoning skills, a bit of financial acumen, and editorial disciple that is often lost in software development. In addition to core application responsibilities, we also support ourfinance department and AdRoll’s customers directly through automation, reporting, and the creation of user-facing and employee-facing tools.

Together we will take on exciting and challenging areas like automated billing and payments, currencies and conversion, account keeping, billing specific UIs, aggregated reporting from many data sources, complexintegrationswith payment providers and financial systems, and billing as a service in a multi-product environment.

Who We’re Looking For:

You are delighted by the idea that your code willbe part ofa critical platform component, used by every single customer, with little to no margin for error. You have some experiencein the billingand/or finance domain. Quick test: one or more of the phrases ‘gateway’, ‘deferred revenue’, and/or ‘general ledger’ mean something to you. You may have even designed or implemented payment/invoicingintegrationsor systems in the past.

In a more general sense, you can design and build scalable, fast, fault tolerant systems that minimize customer impact in case of failures and errors. You can architect and build systems that can process a high volume of transactions while maintaining state. Your experience working with systems gives you insight into building APIs and services which can be easily extended. And you understand the fundamentals and importance of building secure systems which protect sensitive data.

Responsibilities:

• Help make decisions that influence the future of AdRoll’s Billing System

• Design, implement and maintain software responsible for:

• Keeping accurate and detailed customer accounts

• Writing invoices

• Processing payments and refunds

• Integratingwith international payment providers (Braintree, Adyen) as well as complementary systems likeSalesforceand Netsuite

• Provide reporting and analytics to complementary teams like Finance and BI

• Work with the finance team to formalize and automate processes andimproveAdRoll for customers and employees alike

• Investigate issues andimprovementopportunitiesin the Billing& Finance domain and pursue them with innovative solutions

Qualifications:

• Self-directed and resourceful

• You employ careful design methodologies with an emphasis on simplicity, reliability and legibility

• You have experience with Python, Ruby or similardynamicprogramming language and UNIX-like systems

• Humble –happyto work on critical-but-sometimes-invisible systems
