About the Role
We are looking for exceptional engineers to lay the foundational layers of our workplace platform. The Identity and Access team defines how we represent identities and their lifecycles for a wide variety of use cases on our platform. This includes managing the actors for all of Envoy’s products, defining their capabilities, interfacing with our customer’s identity providers, and enabling various access models for our developer platform. These systems are fundamental components for any product experience and these systems need to be built for high availability, flexibility, performance, and scale.

Design core backend software components to be used by every product team at Envoy
Produce thoughtful and forward thinking API designs accounting for known and unknown use cases
Drive engineering projects to completion with urgency, but not at the expense of quality, scalability, or performance
Work collaboratively with teams to plan and execute on engineering projects.
Conduct design and code reviews
You Have
5+ years of engineering experience preferred
Experience building platform APIs that many teams consume
Skilled in service design and defining encapsulation boundaries
Strong data modeling expertise
BS / MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
You’ve created and supported APIs (REST, JSON/HTTP, GraphQL) and have worked closely with app teams
Nice to Have
Experience building in SOA or microservice architectures
Experience with Ruby or Kotlin
Experience with DBs – Postgres / NoSQL
Experience with Heroku, Kubernetes, or AWS
Experience building and maintaining reliable, performant systems
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
LI-Hybrid $60,000 — $120,000/year
