Piton Labs is hiring a full-time senior software engineer who can handle full-stack development, with a strong backend focus, and solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience (either as a founder or at an early-stage company) is preferred. We favor candidates located in the GMT-8 (US West Coast) to GMT-3 time zones, though we may consider other time zones case by case.
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve their most challenging technical problems. You’ll need to deal with uncertainty and complexity in software development—not only helping customers build products, but also helping them clarify what the product should actually do. Instead of just taking tasks from a checklist, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the problems most important to our customers.
We’re technology-neutral, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically on AWS, though some clients may choose other platforms. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Familiarity with our tools is a plus but not required. You must be able to deliver reliable, thoroughly tested code consistently.
Your week may include:
• Developing complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and building serverless API layers for new products
• Using infrastructure-as-code tools to design and deploy cloud infrastructure
• Demonstrating new features to relevant stakeholders for our clients
About you:
