Sworkit is a leading fitness app built with Ionic, Firebase, and Node. We are looking for a part time remote engineer to help us create our own internal tools for analyzing our users’ behaviors based on data we are already collecting.

You would ideally be open for a few weeks of contracting to get a feel for where things are headed, with a strong openness to an ongoing part-time or full-time position to join the team if we have been able to convince you it is where you want to be. With over a million active users, this job will give you an opportunity to work on and directly influence a project with a growing global audience.

We are a remote team spread across the U.S. and UK so you would enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere you would like (U.S. or UK citizens/permanent residents only for longer term work). We value balancing our work to allow for plenty of flexible time that can be spent with our families and friends, while continuing to make a difference in people’s health.

Some work you may do:

• Assist with transferring Firebase JSON backups through CloudDataflow to send it to BigQuery
• Access BigQuery data to create and schedule queries of cached data for reports and analysis
• Integrate this with our Google Analytics for a full view of acquisition and behavior
• Experience with Looker and LookML is a bonus

Some of your skills:

• Experience with Firebase and BigQuery
• Respect for user data and privacy
• Experience building backend services with the language of your choice
• Motivation to carry out tasks from just a simple explanation of the problem to be solved

This project will work to answer question like:

• What % of installs converted to accounts (Firebase)?
• How many of those who did not create accounts have completed a full session?
• How many who DID create accounts completed a full session?
• How many of those users used Sworkit in the last 7 days?
• How many users were we able to re-activate after sending out an email reminder?

We work lean and fast, relying on Slack, git, Trello and only one short weekly conference call for our remote communication needs.
