Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable across the full stack, ideally with a strong focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate will also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—either leading your own project or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT-8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT-3, though others may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and more established organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll navigate the ambiguity and complexity inherent in software development—helping clients not only build their products, but also decide what should be built. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and solve the most important problems for our clients.
We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a full web application stack, relational databases, and a modern front-end stack. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.
A typical week may include:
• Building rich user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Architecting and provisioning cloud infrastructure using IaC tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-directed and passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key traits include:

• Experienced: with 5+ years of experience, you’ve worked on a variety of projects and sharpened your expertise.

REMOTE WORK POLICY
• The team is fully remote with no physical office.
• We prioritize candidates based in the United States who are legally allowed to work there.
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Plan for 4–6 hours of overlap with the U.S. East Coast time zone on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible.
