Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can contribute across multiple layers of the software development stack, with a strong preference for candidates who are especially strong in backend development. You must have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startup environments—through personal projects or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We prefer candidates located in time zones between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, but we can consider other situations depending on the individual case.

## Responsibilities and Technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and established organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll operate in a high-uncertainty, high-complexity environment and help our customers build their products by focusing on what truly needs to be built. Instead of following a fixed task list, you’ll help set priorities and concentrate on the problems that matter most to our customers.

We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most customer projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some customers may use other providers. You should bring at least five years of experience developing large-scale web applications in one or more environments, including relational databases and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You must consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Developing advanced user interfaces for web applications or mobile apps
– Designing and building a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Creating and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to customer stakeholders

## About the Ideal Candidate
You are independent and genuinely motivated to build software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously growing your technical skills. Key traits include:
– Practical: problem-focused and value-driven—creative when needed
– Self-directed: a sense of ownership for products or features, with understanding of both technical and human factors
– Deep experience: 5+ years across a wide variety of projects, refined over time
– Adaptable: confident growing with the technology rather than limiting yourself to a single specialty

## Remote Work Policy
– The team is fully remote; we don’t have a physical office
– We prefer candidates based in the United States who are legally authorized to work
– As a second preference, we consider candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires daily availability for 4–6 hours during US Eastern Time
– We welcome digital nomads; your location can be flexible

## Why Work With Us?
– Attractive compensation: $140,000 USD for candidates based in the United States
– Quarterly bonuses tied to company performance, typically $2,500–$5,000
– Four weeks of paid time off
– Full-time remote position
– Strong work-life balance—you work with fast-growing startups without working weekends
– A flexible culture with fewer meetings and less coordination overhead, supported by high trust in your delivery
