Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on a full-time basis. We’re looking for someone who can lead full-stack development, with a stronger emphasis on backend work. You should have solid experience building and working with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—through personal projects or early-stage companies—is a plus. We prefer candidates located in time zones from GMT‑8 to GMT‑3 (US West Coast), but we may consider other regions depending on fit.

### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large companies to tackle their hardest technical challenges. You’ll need to handle the ambiguity and complexity of software development—supporting clients as they build products and determining what should actually be built. This role goes beyond executing tasks from a checklist: you’ll also help set priorities and steer focus toward what matters most to our clients.

We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is usually built on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with widely used stacks for web applications, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is a benefit, but not required. You should consistently deliver reliable code that has been thoroughly tested.

A typical week may include:
– Building advanced interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for new products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and deploy cloud environments
– Sharing feature updates with client stakeholders

### Ideal Candidate Profile
You are independent, proactive, and genuinely excited to build software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical expertise. You should have:
– **Practical mindset:** focus on solving problems, delivering value, and being creative when it makes a difference
– **Ownership:** take responsibility for outcomes and understand both technical and human factors
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years across a range of projects with continuous growth
– **Adaptability:** embrace new technologies rather than limiting yourself to one area

### Remote Work Policy
– The team is 100% remote, with no office location
– Legal work authorization in the United States and current residence in the US are prioritized
– Next preference: candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– You must overlap US Eastern Time by 4–6 hours per day
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location can be flexible

### Why Join Us
– **Competitive compensation:** $140,000 for local candidates in the US
– **Quarterly bonus based on company profitability:** typically $2,500–$5,000
– **Four weeks of paid time off**
– **100% remote role**
– **Healthy work-life balance:** help drive fast-moving startup initiatives without giving up your weekends
– **Flexible culture:** fewer meetings and less coordination overhead, with high trust in how you execute
