Piton Labs is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (full-time). We’re looking for someone who can operate across different levels of the development team, with a strong preference for candidates who excel in back-end development. You should have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior experience in startup environments—either through your own projects or by working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located in time zones between GMT‑8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, but we can consider other cases individually.

**Responsibilities and Technologies**

At Piton Labs, you work with both startups and established organizations to tackle their toughest technical challenges. You’ll operate in an environment marked by high uncertainty and high complexity in software development, helping clients build the products they truly need. Instead of following a pre-defined task list, you help set priorities and focus on the issues that matter most to our clients.

We’re not tied to a fixed technology stack, but most client projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience building web applications in one or more large-scale environments, including relational databases and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with some of our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You should also consistently write reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building demanding user interfaces for web or mobile apps
• Designing and building a serverless (service-free) API layer for a new web product
• Creating and deploying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Introducing new features to client stakeholders

**About the Ideal Candidate**

You’re independent and passionate about building software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key traits include:

• **Hands-on:** Focus on solving problems and delivering value—using creativity when needed
• **Self-directed:** A sense of ownership over products or features, with an understanding of both technical and human factors
• **Deep experience:** 5+ years of experience across a wide range of projects that evolved over time
• **Adaptable:** Evolve with technology rather than limiting yourself to a single specialization

**Remote Work Policy**

• Our team is fully remote; we don’t have a physical office
• We prefer candidates based in the United States with legal permission to work there
• Second priority for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• The role requires daily availability of 4–6 hours during U.S. Eastern Time (Brasília Time)
• We value digital nomads; your location can be flexible

**Why Work With Us?**

• Competitive compensation: US$ 140,000 for candidates based in the United States
• Quarterly bonuses tied to company performance, typically between US$ 2,500 and US$ 5,000
• Four weeks of paid time off
• Full-time remote work
• Great work-life balance: you work with fast-growing startups without sacrificing weekends
• A flexible culture with fewer meetings and less coordination overhead—enabled by high trust in your delivery
