Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking someone who can lead full-stack development, with a stronger focus on backend engineering. You should have solid hands-on experience building and working with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—whether through personal projects or early-stage companies—is a plus. We prefer candidates based in time zones from GMT‑8 to GMT‑3 (US West Coast), though we may consider other regions depending on fit.
### Responsibilities and Technical Scope
At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to solve their toughest technical problems. You’ll need to navigate ambiguity and complexity—supporting clients as they build products and helping decide what should actually be built. This role isn’t just about completing tasks from a checklist; you’ll also help set priorities and guide attention toward what matters most to our clients.
We don’t require a specific technology stack, but most work uses TypeScript, React, and Go. Cloud infrastructure is typically built on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with commonly used stacks for web applications, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Experience with our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You should consistently produce dependable code that has been thoroughly tested.
A typical week might include:
– Building sophisticated interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for new products
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and deploy cloud environments
– Communicating feature updates to client stakeholders
