Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re seeking someone who can comfortably work across the entire stack, with an ideal emphasis on backend development. The ideal candidate will also have strong experience with cloud infrastructure. Prior startup experience—whether from building your own company or working at an early-stage startup—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located in time zones between GMT-8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT-3, though exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES

At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and larger organizations to solve some of their most difficult technical challenges. You’ll handle the ambiguity and complexity that come with software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also decide what should be built. Rather than simply working through tasks from a backlog, you’ll help define priorities and focus on the most valuable problems for our clients.

We’re technology-agnostic, though most of our work uses TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, but some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with the core web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You should be able to consistently deliver dependable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

• Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Planning and provisioning cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Sharing new features with client stakeholders

You’re self-driven and enthusiastic about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key traits include:

• Experienced: With more than five years in the field, you’ve worked across a variety of projects and honed your skills.

REMOTE WORK POLICY

• Our team is fully remote, with no physical office.
• We prefer U.S.-based candidates who are legally authorized to work there.
• We also give secondary preference to candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
• Plan for 4–6 hours of overlap with U.S. East Coast working hours on most days.
• Digital nomads are welcome—your location is flexible.
