Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Policy Practice. Our work relies on deep subject-matter expertise and a strong understanding of the challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry, managed care organizations, providers, and patients. We offer analytic and advisory support—including regulatory analysis, evidence review, policy evaluation, legislative strategy, and modelling of potential or enacted policies—using both qualitative and quantitative methods for a broad range of healthcare clients.

Senior Associates play a key role in the Policy Practice and contribute to multiple projects and accounts. They collaborate with project managers and experts to research and assess policy proposals, develop client deliverables, and monitor market trends affecting healthcare stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn about the U.S. healthcare system and how policy translates into real-world outcomes for patients and informs business decisions.

This position spans a wide range of policy areas, such as Medicare and Medicaid policy, the Inflation Reduction Act and drug price negotiation, vaccine policy, Medicare Advantage and Part D, Medicaid managed care, Affordable Care Act coverage policy, and drug pricing topics including the 340B program.

• Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical recommendations for clients
• Oversee short- and long-term deliverables to ensure clients benefit from Avalere’s full expertise
• Use healthcare knowledge to collaborate across practices and become a go-to resource for colleagues and clients
• Maintain a strong understanding of Avalere’s and Avalere Health’s services and offerings

About you
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, which may include work in biopharma, health plans, consulting, public-sector health organizations (e.g., CDC), or similar settings
• A graduate degree in public policy, health sciences, health policy, epidemiology/biostatistics, or public health; a bachelor’s degree plus substantial relevant experience is also acceptable

• Ability to synthesize research into clear, accurate, well-designed PowerPoint presentations
• Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and positive client and colleague relationships
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to independently drive projects to completion
• Proactive, action-oriented mindset
• Ability to build trust and foster relationships with varied stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Professional, positive, solutions-focused attitude
