Job requirements
- We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the strategic design and centralization of our data ecosystem. The core of this role is to build a high-performance Metric Hub (Universal Semantic Layer) that centralizes complex "on-the-fly" KPI calculations, ensuring a single source of truth across all business applications and Power BI reports.
- You will be the bridge between design-driven business requirements and technical data flows, optimizing how massive data volumes interact with visualization layers while minimizing redundant data replication.
- Key Responsibilities
- • Metric Hub Architecture: Design and implement a centralized Metric Store or Semantic Layer to govern KPI definitions, preventing "metric sprawl" and ensuring consistent calculations across the organization.
- • Power BI Optimization: Analyse and mitigate the impact of large data volumes on Power BI performance. Lead report optimization initiatives, including DAX tuning and transition from heavy data extracts to efficient live/direct query patterns.
- • Custom Reporting Solutions: Architect and build tailored reporting frameworks that serve both standard BI dashboards and data-driven custom applications.
- • Application Data Modelling: Collaborate with application teams to design robust data models that support multi-tenant SaaS environments while minimizing data replication.
- • Security & Governance: Implement sophisticated access control engines, moving beyond standard RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) to PBAC (Policy-Based Access Control) to manage granular, attribute-driven data security.
- • Cross-Platform Orchestration: Manage data flows across Databricks, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, ensuring the technical architecture supports business-centric "speed-of-thought" analysis.
- • Bridge Design & Engineering: Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (design) and data engineers to ensure the final technical output perfectly reflects business intent.
