About You

You love APIs, even when they don’t always love you back. You’ve written APIs before and you consume them with ease. You are persistent at sniffing out issues – especially useful when APIs get weird and break. Your friends might call you Sherlock Holmes or Nancy Drew when it comes to APIs.

You know the HTTP spec inside and out and have opinions on API design, but are pragmatic, sympathetic and understand that APIs are only useful when they’re shipped. Done is better than perfect.

You love doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.

You love learning. Engineering is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet.

In addition to digging into API specs and solving problems using code, you also enjoy working with people. Communicating with partners and developers over email or chat is something that you’d enjoy doing. You are able to empathize with developers of all levels and backgrounds, in order to help them get things done.

You love to set your own course. At Zapier, we have one team meeting each week and one-on-one meetings every month and then we go make things happen.
