Metacog is building the Big Data Platform for learning for the Internet of Everything. If you are a Software Engineer with commercial Java experience and want to work with and learn the hottest big data technologies, like Scala and Spark, please read on!

As a key team member, you will be contributing to the development and maintenance of our API infrastructure developed on the Play framework in Scala. We have some existing legacy API endpoints written in nodejs that are being rewritten in Java and/or Scala.

If you have strong Java language skills but don’t have strong Scala skills, we are willing to train you up in Scala to help you write the API’s in Spark’s native language.

You will also be implementing Spark jobs running on AWS clusters to transform the raw json data into usable machine learning data.
