At Specto we’re building the next-generation platform for application performance monitoring and analysis in the age of mobile.

More and more users access essential services (banking, transportation, healthcare) through mobile devices. With the increased competition in the space it became apparent that just having a “working” app is not enough. The app has to offer a fast and smooth user experience, otherwise companies are losing users and consequently, it affects their revenue. Existing performance management tools were built with a focus on server performance and as such lack the functionality needed to efficiently monitor, analyze and debug modern mobile apps. We’re addressing that by building a mobile-first application performance monitoring service which will help power the next generation of smooth mobile experiences.

We are a remote team (and always have been) distributed across North America and Europe. We will remain fully remote in the post-covid era.

Responsibilities

• Develop world-class mobile performance telemetry infrastructure
• Own Android performance metrics end-to-end
• Work on automating the collection and analysis of performance data
• Analyze and optimize mobile infrastructure code
• Work with our most important customers to help them get the most out of Specto

Minimum qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or Kotlin
• Familiarity with debugging and profiling Android apps

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with the Android/Linux kernel
• Experience with the ART and Dalvik runtimes
• Experience with performance profiling of large-scale apps
• Experience with modern C++
• Experience building SDKs for constrained environments

Salary or Compensation

$160,000 — $160,000/year
