Our Android app is at the heart of the Groupon story. The Groupon Android app connects millions of consumers with local merchants and services that they love all over the world. Globally, more than 60% of Groupon’s customers use a mobile device to purchase deals and goods.
We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to join our effort to launch new innovative features and make our top rated user experience even better. The Groupon Android app consistently maintains a 4.5-5 star rating. We were awarded“Mobile Commerce Award”at the 2015 Internet Retailer Excellence Awards and in 2014 we were honored as one of the“Best of 2014” apps by Google. We have a lot of challenging and interesting new projects in the works that need great engineering leadership.
Your responsibilities at Groupon will include:
• Lead adevelopment team dedicated to shipping features for the Groupon Android app that will be used by millions of users and many of your friends every day
• Work closely with developers, designers, product management, and other teams to create unique mobile apps
• Rapidly add new functionality, solve complex problems, and ship quality applications
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing software and 2+ years of experience with mobile
• 2+ years of leadership experience either as an engineering manager or tech lead
• B. S.or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Have worked on and released one or more consumer Android applications
• Ability to architect, design and develop complex engineering solutions, with good sense on estimation
• Be a role model for engineers on the team, providing timely coaching and mentoring to all
• Passion for ensuring high quality architecture and customer experience
