**Job Purpose:** The Firefighter is responsible for responding to aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical incidents, hazardous material events, and other emergencies within the airport. The role ensures the safety and security of passengers, crew members, and airport staff by providing firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services.

**Responsibilities**

**Emergency Response:**
– Respond quickly to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, hazardous material incidents, and other emergency situations on airport property.
– Carry out firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services to protect people and property.

**Fire Suppression:**
– Put out fires using a range of firefighting methods, including water, foam, dry chemicals, and other firefighting agents.
– Conduct search and rescue operations in smoke-filled and hazardous areas.

**Emergency Medical Services:**
– Provide first aid and basic life support (BLS) to injured or unwell individuals until advanced medical staff arrive.
– Support patient transport to medical facilities when required.

**Operational Readiness:**
– Perform daily checks and maintenance of firefighting vehicles, extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Keep inventories of firefighting supplies and equipment and ensure they are ready for immediate use.
– Participate in regular emergency response drills, ICAO-required training, and fire exercises.
– Maintain accurate incident reports, training records, and shift logs for regulatory audits.

**Compliance and Reporting:**
– Follow all local, state, and federal regulations and guidance related to firefighting and emergency response, ensuring every task is completed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
– Identify potential hazards during patrols and inspections and take immediate corrective action.
– Submit precise incident reports, equipment logs, and all other required documentation.

**Collaboration and Coordination:**
– Work with airport operations, medical services, and external emergency agencies during incidents.
– Coordinate with the Duty Manager, ATC, and airport authorities during emergency response activities and drills.

**Qualifications**

**Education Qualification:**
– Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or an equivalent qualification.
– Certification from an accredited firefighting academy is required.

**Work Experience:**
– 2–3 years of firefighting experience, preferably in aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) operations.
