ING is to hire an OPS Engineer in the High Performance Computing department Pricing & Risk (OIB Financiel markets).

As OPS Engineer in the HPC team you will be responsible for the availability, stability and performance of a complex internally developed pricing risk platform called RaceING.RaceING is jointly developed by the HPC team and FM Quants. RaceING performs both end-of-day batch and intra-day pricing serving multiple stakeholders in Financial Markets and Risk Management. RaceING is one of the most innovative platforms in Banking, inhouse made by INGtop engineers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us in a challenging and dynamic environmen. Day-to-day the role of the ops engineer within RaceING devops team involves some and sometimes all of the following types of activities:

  • Close interaction with end users and stakeholders, product owners etc

  • Even closer interaction with development engineers

  • Collaboration/interaction with many other OIB/FM devops teams

  • Troubleshooting production issues

  • Maintaining environments

  • Working on IT automation work

  • Participating actively in scrum process from an operability perspective

The successful candidate will have some or most of the following technical and personal qualities. Technology:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong knowledge of SQL, preferably with Oracle experience, Oracle certification a big plus

  • Knowledge of UNIX environments, bash scripting etc

  • Knowledge of Python, Java, Java Script, JavaEE, C++, CUDA all good to have

  • Knowledge and/or experience with distributed computing also good to have

  • Eager to learn new skills and technologies working on an innovative platform

Personal:

  • Excellent personal communication skills

  • Fluent in English

  • Is able to work both in a structured formal way but is also agile

  • Calm under pressure

  • Knowledge of financial markets products, risk mgmt. desired

  • Experience with functional and technical application management (ITIL) (preference).

  • Application Management experience including tooling (HPSC, Jira, etc)

  • Standby out of office hours is required
