Please keep our production systems alive whilst our regular guy is on his honeymoon!

We’re looking for a competent system admin or developer (with DevOps experience) who is after a bit of extra cash over the holiday season. You’ll be paid to remain on-call from December 20th until January 21st. Our setup is quite stable and we don’t expect you’ll even be called-up – but it would be irresponsible of us to leave our services unmanned!

No surprises, $4000 just for taking the contract + $50/hr if you get called up.

You’ll be responsible for keeping an eye on one production Linux (Ubuntu) host and the Docker containers that are running on it. You won’t be required to write any code; ideally just reboot services or execute some pre-canned scripts if something goes wrong. You should however have good familiarity with Linux infrastructure in case something unforeseen goes wrong.

As part of the contract we’ll spend 1-2 days (at your discretion) setting up access and giving you a run through on a non-production instance. You must be available for at least 4-6 hours on a week day prior to December 16th for this to take place.

All our apps are “Twelve Factor” (12factor.net/) and can be deployed or restarted in one command!
