We are looking for an experienced Editor to join Kidadl at a really exciting phase in our growth journey. In this position you’ll assume the role of brand guardian and develop Kidadl’s brand DNA and the strategic direction and execution of our editorial content across web, newsletter, social, commercial and PR. You will lead a growing team whilst interacting with key stakeholders across the business as we scale to serve a global family audience with a strong foothold in North America.

What You’ll Do

  • Implement quarterly content strategic direction and planning across the Kidadl platform to achieve audience, social and revenue targets
  • Manage and develop team members across editorial, newsletter, social and PR to execute on this strategic plan
  • Design, implement and manage Kidadl’s editorial and brand guidelines to ensure content across the business meets our high quality standards
  • Ensure business adheres to guidelines for editorial best practice and team members are trained and updated regularly in this regard
  • Partner with team leaders across Content Production, SEO, Commercial and Product to solve problems, build a positive culture and collaborate effectively as the business scales
  • Contribute editorial input for continued product improvement and SEO Content improvement
  • Work adjacently with commercial and creative teams to provide outstanding branded content solutions

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in an editorial role, with an affinity for working with American English and serving a North American audience
  • An astute sense of the appropriate style, voice, tone and content for the Kidadl brand
  • Creativity and a passion for brand-building within an editorial framework with sophisticated organisational skills and a sharp eye for detail
  • Genuine interest in the family market and serving families with premium content
  • Experience meeting targets/deadlines while remaining attentive and committed to day to day editorial responsibilities
  • Experience managing a growing team and ensuring business objectives are met, to the required timeframe and standard
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills
  • An innovative, disruptive solution-focused thinker who thrives establishing a new processes, guidelines and best practices
  • An ability to think, imagine and direct teams to execute on set out strategies
  • Deep Understanding of content strategy and delivery, SEO and Google Analytics
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience working with global teams
  • Strong ability to manage both internal senior stakeholders and to engage external senior stakeholders and to represent Kidadl as needed
