From genomics to COVID-19, Color has been on the forefront of population health, delivering healthcare at scale. This role will help to ensure we build experiences that help diverse populations stay safe, receive services, and be empowered. We need your expertise to quickly deliver experiences that are innovative and inclusive.
We are looking for a seasoned and passionate accessibility tester with expertise in accessibility guidelines, requirements, and assistive technologies. You will work closely with design technologists, software engineers, product designers, product managers, and user researchers to audit digital products for WCAG compliance. We look to you to help standardize our processes, establish best practices, champion accessibility, and ensure our product experiences are compliant.
This is a 6-month temp role.
How You’ll Contribute:
Join a pretty cool cross-functional team focused on digital accessibility
Conduct manual reviews and run automated tests on mockups, web pages, emails, PDFs, and other digital formats across Color’s products and services
Communicate audit findings and recommended remediations to product teams
Develop process, procedures, and best practices for ensuring compliance
Track compliance and remediation
Report on key metrics and provide regular updates across the organization
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience conducting WCAG compliance audits via manual reviews and automated tests
Experience with screen readers and other assistive technologies
Experience advising design and engineering teams on accessibility best practices
Experience with Deque’s axe
A basic familiarity with Material and React
A track record of collaboration with designers, developers, and product managers on cross-functional product development teams regularly releasing products
Passion for developing and maintaining compliance processes and best practices
A knack for documentation
The ability to be flexible and move quickly without sacrificing rigor
A strong voice to champion accessibility
