The Opportunity
This is a 1-year contract to backfill a maternity leave.
We are looking for a Junior Visual Designer to join our Creative Services team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about designing a wide variety of items across digital and print media. Our targeted start date is the beginning of April 2022.
For this role, you will collaborate with fellow designers, developers, and product managers to bring visual concepts to life. You will work alongside the marketing team to deliver successful campaigns. You will have to be creative thinker who can conceptualize the entirety of a design project, as well as what individual tasks required to make the vision a reality.
Your Day to Day:
Work within brand guidelines to create collateral that reinforce brand’s style or voice through its visual touchpoints
Give timelines for requests and maintain contact with internal requestors through tickets, slack, and email
Work on marketing items, presentation pieces and interactive event materials
Participation in various design projects from concept to completion
Illustrate concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts
Maintain design documentation and directories
Stay up to date with design trends, accessibility standards and technologies
What it Takes:
1-3 years of experience working directly with users and stakeholders to define requirements
Portfolio that demonstrates visual strengths and creativity
A solid foundation in typography, layout, and design
Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, along with presentation and negotiation skills
A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress and meet deadlines
Exemplary design sensibility and command of standard design applications like Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD) and Figma
Nice to haves:
Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics would be a bonus
