They are building a network that enables any party to become a provider of connectivity (and even financial services), bringing blockchain benefits to existing telcos but also opening the world up for new methods of providing connectivity – mesh networks, peer to peer, etc, pushing the economic benefits back to the participants. Their goal is to build the last singular network for the planet, accessible to anyone and owned by everyone.

Our client is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive the design and development of Web3 technologies – blockchain, smart contracts, protocols, proofs, wallets, nodes, explorer, open source, distributed ledgers, cryptography, and more. The Head of Blockchain will leverage their expertise in and passion for software development to implement scalable, performant, decentralized solutions on the blockchain. This is a great opportunity for you to interact directly with customers and influence definition and design from scratch.

Responsibilities

Drive the architecture of our platform and develop into management of the engineering team
Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design
Evolve the technical direction of the service
Deliver high-quality systems and features for customers
Own the software development process end-to-end, including working with stakeholders to determine requirements and design, architect, plan, implement, test, and operate new systems and features
Engage in and contribute to relevant open source projects
Monitor project execution and ensure that the project is delivered on time, on budget, and with great quality

Requirements

Experience in full lifecycle smart contract development
Hands on experience primarily with Solidity
High level knowledge of APIs and libraries
Up-to-date with the latest blockchain trends, techniques, best practices and technologies
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Knowledge of Web3 and Ethereum development tools (Truffle or Hardhat)
