ManpowerGroup Greece, on behalf of its client, is looking for an experienced Database and Systems Administrator to join their Product Team.

Workplace location: On Premise, Hybrid or 100% Remote.

What you will be doing:

Our client is a rapidly growing start-up (Athens’ based) with an established B2B Product and a solid international client base.

As a Database and Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the setup and maintenance of both the inhouse environment (Development, Staging and QA) and for the external partners as well.

In addition, you will:

  • Synchronize the inhouse environments where needed
  • Setup, tune and monitor the hardware and software for failures and optimal operation
  • Backup all the environments and the databases
  • Restore/Rollback the environments in case of failures or other issues
  • Generate reports of the scheduled processes and their outcomes
  • Generate reports of the persisted data in the databases
  • Create and maintain logging and reporting using Grafana
  • A BSc in the Technology field
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Server environment
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple database platforms such as MS-SQL and PostgreSQL
  • Excellent knowledge of configuring Windows operating systems for optimal database performance including performance tuning
  • Excellent knowledge of usual DB processes such as backup and recovery, migrations and upgrades, replication, clustering and high availability, security, and auditing
  • Good working knowledge of chosen SQL syntax
  • Good practical knowledge of physical infrastructure: network, storage and virtualization layers and their impact on DB services
  • Good practical knowledge of cloud DBaaS offerings such as Amazon RDS, Google Cloud SQL or Microsoft Azure SQL, experience with migrating database services to the (hybrid) cloud with Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP
  • Experience in monitoring tasks and tooling such as New Relic, TICK/ELK stack, Grafana or Splunk
