Job Summary: Baseball Prospectus, an industry leader since 1996, seeks a skilled and experienced full-time Director to oversee the team responsible for maintenance and delivery of public statistics, including the Operations and Application Development teams. This person will work side-by-side with senior management to help guide the vision of BP and have autonomy to run their own department, including personnel and strategic data/development decisions. They will also be working closely with our Editorial and R&D teams to help elevate our brand in all aspects of the business.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Desire to own the role and space, both publicly and internally
- Data-centric UX leadership with a customer service orientation
- Strong familiarity with Baseball Prospectus statistics and concepts
- Ability to program Python/Django (or other web framework)
- Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (Vue or others)
- Fluency in SQL
- Experience with Linux and/or AWS/cloud services administration
- Proven success in a remote work environment
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional availability during weekends, holidays and nights during the Major League Baseball season

- Experience with CMS-integrated sites
- Baseball industry experience (public or private)
- Experience with statistical and machine learning in R
