Why are we hiring this role?
Due to continued growth, the Customer Success team is expanding. We’re looking for a Customer Success Manager to join our high-performing team to onboard and enable our customers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading customer interactions, be detail-oriented, and be clear, credible, and confident—able to listen carefully and provide strong, actionable guidance.
As a Customer Success Manager, you’ll report into a Team Manager and analyze the root causes of your customers’ biggest challenges. You’ll work closely with UpGuard technology to reduce those pain points. You’ll gather ongoing feedback from both customers and colleagues to continuously improve UpGuard, and you’ll partner with customers around the world—from initial contact through successful deployment—gaining unique insights into the world’s most important industries and institutions.
What will you do?
– Onboard and manage UpGuard customers to ensure they understand how to use UpGuard effectively to meet their goals.
– Provide customers with resources such as success plans, customer-specific training sessions, and organize regular check-in calls.
– Engage customers early and often to help them get the most value from UpGuard from day one and maintain strong engagement over time.
– Serve as the customer advocate by sharing updates with internal cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, and Marketing) on customer perspectives, risks, strategic insights, issue resolution efforts, and expansion or cross-sell opportunities.
– Translate customer requirements by understanding their risk management frameworks and recommending tailored ways to use UpGuard.
– Monitor customer health and step in with proactive education when customers aren’t using UpGuard effectively to achieve expected outcomes.
– Be willing to travel 20% of the time within your city and to other cities across India.
What will you bring?
– 2+ years of experience in customer success, project management, or account management.
– An understanding of cyber risk management or risk management frameworks.
– Experience supporting and building customer relationships in a scalable way.
– Ability to manage a portfolio of customers across time zones/locations.
– Strong organization skills, including the ability to update existing documentation and create new processes.
– High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
– Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams and be a true team player.
– Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
What would give you an edge?
– Experience with a CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
– Experience with customer success tools such as ChurnZero or Gainsight.
– Experience in cyber risk management or risk management.
– Knowledge of cyber security best practices.
– Basic or working knowledge of APIs.
– Experience running training sessions.
