Join us as a Banking Operations Juridical Officer for the German Market (fixed-term contract), based in Paris, where you’ll handle sensitive operations related to Qonto’s customers. You’ll support the day-to-day management of operational banking topics for our German market 🇩🇪, playing a key role in establishing Qonto as the leading European business finance solution. You’ll join our international Banking Operations team of four (and growing!), reporting to Matthias, our Team Lead Banking Operations Juridical – Germany, Netherlands, Austria.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Banking Operations Juridical Officer – German Market at Qonto, you will:
- Manage sensitive processes: Handle and follow up on administrative seizures, judicial liquidations, enforcement actions (bailiff seizures), and inheritance procedures.
- Handle written communication: Work directly with German authorities, creditors, and lawyers to ensure accuracy and compliance (no direct phone calls or direct customer contact).
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with internal teams (Banking Operations, Customer Care, and Legal) to ensure operations are managed efficiently and carefully.
- Oversee account lifecycle: Ensure account closures run smoothly and prepare circular letters for external auditors.
- Improve day-to-day processes: Refine and update operational workflows to increase efficiency and maintain high standards.

Your manager will be Matthias, our Team Lead Banking Operations Juridical – Germany, Netherlands, Austria.
- His path? Matthias started his career in law, specializing in European and international tax law, with experience as a Tax Trainee at multiple law firms. He joined Qonto in early 2022 as a Banking Operations Manager and quickly advanced, becoming a Senior Manager before taking on his current role as Team Lead in 2024.
- What he brings to the team? With a strong academic background in tax law and years of hands-on experience in Qonto’s banking operations, Matthias offers sharp analytical discipline, precision, and a deep understanding of our core financial processes. His fast progression within the company reflects his adaptability and proven leadership. As a Franco-German bilingual, he also contributes valuable cross-cultural insight and excellent communication skills.
🏅 About you
- Experience: You have initial experience in administrative or banking operations and feel comfortable managing operational—and sometimes sensitive—topics.
- Languages: You’re fluent in German and English (written and spoken). French is a plus.
- Analytical and detail-oriented: You’re highly organized, pay close attention to details, and can stay consistent with repetitive tasks.
- Critical thinker: You bring curiosity and always look for better solutions, while feeling comfortable challenging the status quo.
