Job Description –

We are seeking Staff ThoughtSpot Engineer to join our Analytics and BICOE team. This role is a hands-on technical position responsible for the ThoughtSpot platform’s architecture, administration, and strategic enablement across the organization. The ideal candidate will drive platform Administration, scalability, governance, Dashboard development, and adoption while partnering closely with engineering, data, and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making at scale. This role owns the end-to-end analytics experience, with a strong emphasis on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GCP BigQuery (BQ), cloud-native architecture, and high-performance SQL, enabling scalable, governed, and reliable analytics across Albertsons.

Key Responsibilities :

  • 8 years of experience in data analytics, with expert-level skills in ThoughtSpot development and deep expertise in ThoughtSpot architecture, administration, and data modeling.
  • Design, develop, and implement ThoughtSpot dashboards, Liveboards, and worksheets.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Develop data models and optimize ThoughtSpot schemas for performance and scalability.
  • Design and optimize BigQuery data models to support self-service and enterprise analytics.
  • Write and optimize complex, high-performance BigQuery SQL for large-scale analytical workloads.
  • Drive query performance tuning and cost optimization in BigQuery (partitioning, clustering, materialized views, etc.).
  • Administer and manage ThoughtSpot SaaS environments.
  • Coordinate with vendors and Albertsons change management teams for production upgrades.
  • Monitor platform health, usage analytics, and overall system performance.
  • Manage tenant configurations and enable new platform features.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and coordinate with ThoughtSpot support as needed.
  • Configure and manage users, groups, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Ensure governance standards, compliance, and audit readiness; maintain Confluence documentation with platform updates.
  • Configure and manage live query connections and rotate service account (SA) keys to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor query performance and partner with engineering teams to optimize schemas.
  • Use ThoughtSpot Modeling Language (TML) to support migrations across non-production and production environments.
  • Leverage REST APIs for automation and administrative tasks.
  • Support internal teams using ThoughtSpot via visual embed and ensure product changes are communicated effectively.
  • Conduct training sessions to onboard new teams and provide mentorship to junior developers.
  • Provide L2/L3 production support.

Specialization

  • Required Qualifications:

    • Strong understanding of SaaS analytics platforms, semantic modeling, and query performance optimization.
    • Strong understanding of enablement of the ThoughtSpot analytics platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS.
    • Deep expertise in BigQuery, including Advanced BigQuery SQL, Performance tuning, Data modeling for large-scale analytics.
    • Experience with enterprise governance, RBAC, and compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency with REST APIs, automation, and platform integrations.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    Proven ability to operate independently and lead initiatives end to end.

    8+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or analytics platform engineering. Expert-level experience with ThoughtSpot development, architecture, administration, and data modeling.
