Position Overview

We are currently hiring Virtual Tutors from around the world to teach U.S. students in English Language Arts (ELA) and/or Math at the Elementary, Middle, or High School level.

Sessions are delivered online in small groups or 1:1 through our digital platform and curriculum guidance. Training will be provided.

This role is ideal for candidates who:

• Enjoy teaching
• Speak English fluently
• Have strong math skills or reading/ELA knowledge
• Want flexible remote work starting at $8/hour USD

Subjects Needed

• English Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Comprehension)
• Math (Elementary, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II)
• Multilingual or bilingual Spanish–English tutors are strongly encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule

• Flexible scheduling
• Most tutoring takes place Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST (U.S. Central Time)
• You select the days and time blocks you’re available for, and we schedule sessions based on school needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual tutoring (1:1 or small groups of 3)
• Follow Papaya’s lesson format and engagement methods
• Take attendance and write brief notes after each session
• Create a supportive, encouraging learning environment
• Attend required training and feedback sessions
• Maintain strong communication and professionalism

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Have a desktop/laptop and a reliable internet connection
• Strong English proficiency (both speaking and writing)
• Solid knowledge of ELA and/or Math
• Laptop/desktop with a webcam
• Reliable internet connection
• Headset with a microphone
• Availability during school hours (8 AM–5 PM CST)
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience is preferred, but not required
• Friendly, patient, and comfortable working with students online

Compensation

• $8 USD per hour
• Possibility of additional hours depending on performance and school demand
