FTE: Full Time, 0.8–1.0 (32.00–80.00 hours per pay period, every two weeks)
Shift: Nights
Pay: $29.54–$44.31 per hour, depending on the applicant’s relevant experience
Summary:
The remote EEG technologist is responsible for real-time monitoring of continuous and intermittent EEGs, identifying abnormalities, and promptly notifying supervising neurologists and other designated care providers of technical findings. The technologist also reviews recordings and performs clipping or pruning of studies as needed. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, dependable, and experienced Neurodiagnostics professional who can independently and competently conduct monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of adult EEG patterns, including both normal and abnormal findings
- Can distinguish artifacts from cortical activity
- Accurately monitors, identifies, and performs clipping/pruning for EEG abnormalities
- Maintains a daily cEEG log and completes documentation according to industry standards and company policies
- Demonstrates proficiency in operating EEG equipment and troubleshooting as required
- Has basic computer skills and can perform data entry
- Understands medical terminology, ACNS EEG description terminology, and neurodiagnostics field abbreviations
- Communicates professionally with hospital staff, supervising neurologists, and other remote technologists
- Prunes ambulatory studies
Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic Technologist program, or a related advanced degree
- Preferred qualification: CLTM certification
- Registered as an EEG Technologist (REEGT) and an additional registry certification, such as: Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM) through ABRET; CPSGT or RPSGT through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists; Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (NCS.T) through the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine; NCT certification through ABEM; or Neurovascular Specialist (NVS) through the American Society of Neuroimaging (ASN). Must also hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- Two years of Neurodiagnostic experience
- BLS (or CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer. A valid card must be in hand prior to the start date and remain valid for at least the first 60 days after hire
