A letter from Nat, Founder & CEO of Poppy & Peonies

To our future COO,

We started Poppy & Peonies in my basement, with a dream, a baby on my hip, and no money, and over the past 10 years, we’ve bootstrapped it into a profitable nine-figure DTC business.

What we’re most proud of is the community we’ve built along the way, a loyal, engaged following that shows up, sells us out, and grows with us every step of the way. From day one, our goal has been simple: design stylish bags that organize everyday chaos and make life a little easier. We’ve built this thoughtfully and intentionally, and now we’re ready for the next chapter. This is our first COO hire, and it’s a big one.

We’re looking for someone who can help us scale and bring the right structure, systems, and leadership to take us to the next level. That means unlocking new growth channels, strengthening and de-risking our supply chain, elevating every touchpoint of the customer experience, and building a team and operating rhythm that can support a rapidly growing business.

You’ll be a true partner to me and the leadership team, someone who can translate vision into execution, make smart decisions quickly, and build an organization that can run with excellence, with or without the founder in every room. This is a hands-on role for someone who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, but who also knows when to step back, see the full picture, and build for scale.
If you’re excited by the idea of stepping into a founder-led business at an inflection point and helping shape what the next decade looks like, we’d love to meet you.

Nat
