We are looking for experienced educators to review and give feedback on ELD lessons for Grades 6–8. Reviewers will assess how well the lessons align with California ELD standards, their instructional quality, cultural responsiveness, and overall usefulness for teachers working with emergent bilingual learners.

What you will do:
• Examine draft ELD lessons for Grades 6–8 to confirm alignment with California ELD standards
• Assess the instructional design, including scaffolding, differentiation, and language development supports
• Review how well the ELD lessons connect with EL Education’s Grades 6–8 Module lessons
• Offer clear, actionable feedback on lesson content, activities, assessments, and teacher guidance
• Evaluate lessons for cultural and linguistic relevance
• Confirm that lessons address California ELD standards across Emerging, Expanding, and Bridging proficiency levels
• Ensure lessons offer learning opportunities aligned with all three parts of the CA ELD Standards
• Verify that language objectives are measurable, clearly stated, and aligned to standards
• Review the quality and appropriateness of instructional strategies, materials, and activities
• Evaluate scaffolds and supports for learners at different proficiency levels
• Review the balance of speaking, listening, reading, and writing opportunities
• Assess opportunities for student interaction, collaboration, and authentic language use
• Examine how academic vocabulary and language routines are integrated
• Review the clarity and completeness of teacher guidance
• Evaluate whether lessons can realistically be implemented within a typical class period
• Check materials lists, pacing, and lesson structures for practicality
• Provide feedback on how accessible and well-organized the lesson materials are

What we are looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• California teaching credential preferred
• CLAD, BCLAD, or English Learner Authorization
• At least 3–5 years of classroom teaching experience in Grades 6–8 ELA
• Experience teaching ELD or supporting emergent bilingual students
• Strong understanding of California ELD standards and classroom application
• Experience with curriculum review, instructional coaching, or educational materials development is a plus
• Deep knowledge of the California ELD standards and framework
• Understanding of second language acquisition theory and best practices in ELD instruction
• Familiarity with EL Education curriculum is preferred
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills
• Ability to deliver helpful, actionable feedback
• Proficiency with digital collaboration tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and project management platforms

$31 per hour
