Who You Are
You are a proactive, detail‑driven People Relations Specialist with strong knowledge of multi‑state employment law and performance management practices. You will act as a trusted advisor to management, offering guidance on employee relations issues, interpreting policies, and minimizing risk. You help resolve workplace challenges, foster a fair and respectful environment, and support leaders in managing team performance effectively. You excel in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving environment and are focused on solutions and continuous improvement. This role requires independence, multitasking, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
What You’ll Do
• Partner with managers on employee matters, coaching them on expectations, feedback, and documentation
• Guide leaders through performance management, including developing strategies, improvement plans, and corrective actions
• Maintain accurate case records in the People Relations system
• Use dashboards and reports to monitor case progress and ensure timely follow‑ups
• Analyze employee relations data to identify trends and root causes, sharing insights with leadership
• Oversee the employee offboarding process to ensure a smooth transition
• Support workplace investigations by documenting interviews and preparing detailed reports
• Manage the People Relations shared inbox as the main contact for employee questions, offering expertise on policies and procedures
• Respond to unemployment claims with required documentation
• Stay current on multi‑state employment laws and ensure compliance
What You’ll Need
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field
• SHRM‑CP or PHR certification preferred
• 5+ years of HR or employee relations experience
• Experience with Workday and an employee relations case management system preferred
• Strong communication skills for interactions with employees at all levels and for preparing written documents such as performance plans, corrective actions, and investigation reports
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to handle multiple cases and detailed records
• Strong decision‑making skills, especially under pressure, with the ability to apply policies, laws, and best practices to resolve issues fairly
• Ability to train and coach managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management, compliance, and policies
• Analytical skills to identify trends and use data to guide decisions about policies and strategies
