Job Summary and Goals
The Area Manager (AM) plays a key role in driving the success of Gopuff’s Starbucks Licensed Store Team by offering consultative support and service to a group of delivery-only cafés and their teams. The AM oversees multiple locations (5–15) and influences results by delivering timely coaching, feedback, and essential support that strengthens team capability. A Food Safety Manager Certification (CFM) is preferred.

Core Responsibilities
• Grow a portfolio of successful stores by creating strategies to meet financial, operational, and customer-service goals, customized to each location’s strengths and challenges
• Motivate, coach, and develop team leaders, operators, and business owners
• Serve as a resource on customer concerns, staffing, operations, and company policies
• Train teams to implement systems, enforce accountability, and support internal growth
• Understand what drives sales within your cafés
• Review key KPIs weekly and take initiative to achieve targets
• Support upcoming launches within and beyond your area by training new teams as needed
Leadership
• Champions a customer-first mindset by training teams to deliver the legendary service expected from Gopuff and Starbucks
• Maintains a professional and calm presence, especially during high‑pressure periods
• Fosters a positive atmosphere across all teams
• Coaches Gopuff Starbucks teams toward operational excellence
• Provides objective feedback to identify issues and opportunities for improvement
Team Building
• Offer coaching, feedback, and recognition to help leaders build strong teams
• Build positive relationships with employees by understanding individual motivations and concerns
• Celebrate individual and team successes through existing and creative recognition methods
• Ensure compliance with legal, operational, and state health requirements
• Develop strong partnerships with MFC teams to support smooth operations
• Work closely with the GM, OA’s, Dispatch, and Driver Ops teams to meet KPI goals
Experience
We’d love to hear from candidates with:
• 5+ years of retail experience managing two or more stores, departments, or units, including P&L, inventory, operations, and customer service
• 5+ years of management experience leading teams of six or more, including training and coaching
• 3+ years in a customer-service–focused role
• Experience in multi‑unit operations and familiarity with retail or restaurant operations and financial reporting
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving abilities
