Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who feels comfortable working across the entire stack, with an ideal stronger focus on backend development. The ideal candidate also brings solid experience in cloud infrastructure. Experience at a startup—either founding it or joining in the early stages—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT‑8 (U.S. West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we’re open to evaluating other situations case by case.

## Responsibilities and Technologies

At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with startups and larger organizations to tackle some of their most complex technical challenges. You’ll handle the ambiguity and complexity that come with software development, helping clients not only build their products, but also decide what they should build. Instead of working only from a backlog, you’ll help set priorities and focus on solving the highest-value problems.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we typically use AWS, though some clients work with other providers. You must have at least five years of experience with a core web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Knowing our preferred tools is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:

– Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You work independently and you’re passionate about writing code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. Key qualities include:

## Remote Work Guidelines

– Our team is fully remote and we don’t have a physical office.
– We prefer candidates in the United States who can work legally there.
– Second preference: candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
– Requires 4–6 hours of overlap with the U.S. East Coast time zone on most days.
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location is flexible.
