Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable working full-stack, with especially strong backend skills. Ideally, you’ll also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in a startup—either as a founder or as an early team member—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT-8 (US Pacific Time) and GMT-3, though applicants in other time zones may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with startups and large organizations to tackle their most complex technical challenges. You’ll navigate the usual uncertainty and complexity of software development, helping clients build products and also clarify what should be built. You won’t just pull tasks from a backlog—you’ll help define priorities and focus on solving the most valuable problems for our clients.

We’re generally technology-agnostic, but most of our projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically build cloud infrastructure using AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with conventional web stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Experience with the tools mentioned is helpful but not required. You must be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code over the long term.

A typical week might include:

– Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new product
– Creating and deploying cloud architecture using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to client stakeholders

You’re self-directed and love to code. You enjoy solving problems and continuously expanding your technical skills. You should have these qualities:

– Pragmatic: focused on solving problems and creating value, innovating when needed
– Independent: able to take full ownership of a product or feature, with clear understanding of both technical and collaboration aspects
– Broad experience: at least five years in the field, exposed to a variety of projects, with a commitment to continuous improvement
– Adaptable: able to grow with evolving technology without being locked into a single specialization

Remote work policy:

– Fully remote team with no physical office
– Highest priority for candidates legally authorized to work in the United States
– Second priority for candidates based in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– You must have 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time most days
– Digital nomads are welcome, with flexibility around location

Why join us:

– Competitive pay: $140,000 USD for US-based candidates
– Meaningful quarterly profit share, typically $2,500–$5,000
– Four weeks of paid vacation
– Fully remote work—permanently
– Great work-life balance: collaborate with fast-growing startups without giving up your weekends
– Flexible, autonomous culture with very few meetings and full trust in your ability to deliver

If you’re interested, contact us using the information below and we’ll coordinate a time to talk.
