Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across multiple layers of the software development stack, with a strong preference for candidates who excel in backend development. You should have meaningful experience with cloud infrastructure. Experience in startup environments—through personal projects or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, though we may consider other situations case by case.

### Responsibilities and Technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll help both startups and established organizations solve their toughest technical challenges. We work in a fast-moving, high-uncertainty, high-complexity environment, supporting clients in building products around what truly needs to be built. Instead of following a fixed task list, you’ll help set priorities and focus effort on the most critical problems for our clients.

We don’t require a specific tech stack, but many projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We typically use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience building large-scale web applications, including relational databases and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is helpful, but not required. You must also be able to consistently produce dependable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Building advanced user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new product
– Using infrastructure-as-code tools to create and manage cloud infrastructure
– Sharing progress and new features with client stakeholders

### Ideal Candidate
You’re self-motivated and genuinely excited about building software. You like solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. You bring:
– **Practical mindset:** focused on solving problems and delivering value, using creativity when necessary
– **Self-directed ownership:** taking responsibility for products or features while understanding both technical and people-related considerations
– **Deep experience:** 5+ years across many different projects, built up over time
– **Adaptability:** staying current with technology rather than limiting yourself to one specialty

### Remote Work Policy
– The team is fully remote; there’s no physical office
– Preference for candidates in the United States who have legal authorization to work
– Secondary preference for candidates from Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
– The role requires daily availability for 4–6 hours during U.S. business hours (Eastern Time)
– We support digital nomads, so your location can be flexible

### Why Join Us?
– Competitive salary: **$140,000** for candidates based in the United States
– Quarterly bonuses tied to company profits, usually **$2,500–$5,000**
– **Four weeks** of paid time off
– Full-time remote role
– Strong work-life balance: you’ll work with fast-growing startups without giving up weekends
– A flexible culture with fewer meetings and less coordination, supported by high trust in your ability to deliver
