Piton Labs is hiring a full‑time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable with full‑stack development, with particularly strong skills on the backend. Ideally, you’ll also have solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—either founding one or joining an early‑stage team—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT‑8 (US Pacific Time) and GMT‑3, though applicants from other time zones may be considered individually.

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and large organizations to tackle their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the uncertainty and complexity common in software development, helping clients build products and also clarify what should be built. You won’t simply take tasks from a backlog—you’ll help shape priorities and focus on solving the most valuable problems for our clients.

We’re generally tech‑agnostic, but most of our projects use Typescript, React, and Go. We typically build cloud infrastructure on AWS, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with mainstream web application stacks, relational databases, and modern frontend technologies. Experience with the tools above is helpful but not required. You should be able to deliver reliable, well‑tested code consistently over the long term.

A typical week might include:

• Building complex user interfaces for web or mobile apps
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new product
• Creating and deploying cloud architecture using infrastructure‑as‑code tools
• Demoing new features to client stakeholders

You are self‑directed and love to code. You enjoy solving problems and continually expanding your technical skills. You should have the following traits:

• Pragmatic: focused on solving problems and creating value, while innovating when needed
• Self‑driven: able to take full ownership of a product or feature, with a clear understanding of technical and collaborative considerations
• Deeply experienced: at least five years in the field, with exposure to diverse projects and a commitment to ongoing improvement
• Adaptable: able to grow with evolving technology without being limited by specialization

Remote work policy:

• Fully remote team with no physical office
• Highest priority for candidates with legal authorization to work in the United States
• Next priority for candidates based in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• Must have 4–6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time most days
• Digital nomads welcome, with location flexibility

Why join us:

• Competitive salary: 140,000 USD for US‑based candidates
• Significant quarterly profit‑sharing, typically 2,500–5,000 USD
• Four weeks of paid vacation
• Fully remote forever
• Strong work‑life balance—you’ll work with fast‑growing startups without sacrificing your weekends
• Flexible, autonomous culture with very few meetings and trust in your ability to deliver

If you’re interested, please reach out using the contact information below, and we’ll set up a time to talk.
