Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone who can work across the entire stack, with a strong preference for candidates with deep backend expertise. Solid experience with cloud infrastructure is required. Prior exposure to the startup world—through personal projects or working at an early-stage company—is a plus. We strongly prefer candidates located between GMT‑8 (US West Coast) and GMT‑3, though other profiles may be considered case by case.

Responsibilities and technologies
At Piton Labs, you’ll collaborate with both startups and large organizations to solve their most complex technical challenges. You’ll need to navigate the uncertainty and complexity inherent in software development, help clients build their products, and determine what truly needs to be built. Rather than working from a fixed task list, you’ll help set priorities and focus effort on the most important problems for our clients.

We don’t tie ourselves to a single stack, though most client projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. We frequently use AWS for cloud infrastructure, though some clients use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a major web development stack, relational databases, and modern frontend frameworks. Familiarity with our preferred tools is beneficial but not required. You must also be able to consistently deliver reliable, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
• Building advanced UI for web or mobile applications
• Designing and developing a serverless API layer for a new web product
• Setting up cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
• Presenting new features to client stakeholders

What we’re looking for
You’re independent and passionate about building software. You enjoy solving problems and continuously improving your technical skills. Key qualities include:
• Pragmatic: focused on solving problems and creating value, with creativity when needed
• Independent: you take ownership of a product or feature and understand both technical and human factors
• Experienced: 5+ years of experience across a wide variety of projects, with skills refined over time
• Adaptable: you keep up with technology and don’t limit yourself to a single specialty

Remote work policy
• The team is fully distributed and we don’t have a physical office
• We prioritize candidates based in the United States who have legal authorization to work
• Secondary preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay
• The role requires 4–6 hours of daily overlap with the US East Coast time zone
• Digital nomads are welcome; your work location is flexible

Why join us?
• Competitive compensation: $140,000 USD for candidates based in the United States
• Significant quarterly performance bonuses tied to company profits, typically between $2,500 and $5,000
• Four weeks of paid time off
• Fully remote work
• Great work/life balance—you’ll collaborate with fast-moving startups without sacrificing your weekends
• A flexible culture with few meetings and low synchronization, built on trust in your ability to deliver
