Piton Labs is hiring a full-time Senior Software Engineer. We’re looking for someone comfortable across the entire stack, ideally with a strong focus on back-end development. The ideal candidate also has solid experience with cloud infrastructure. Startup experience—either as a founder or an early employee—is a plus. We prefer candidates in time zones between GMT-8 (US West Coast) and GMT-3, but we’ll also consider occasional exceptions.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TECHNOLOGIES**

At Piton Labs, you’ll work with both startups and established companies on their most challenging technical problems. You’ll navigate the typical ambiguity and complexity of software development and help customers not only build their products, but also figure out what should be built in the first place. Rather than simply pulling tasks from a backlog, you’ll define priorities and tackle the problems that will have the greatest impact for our customers.

We’re technology-agnostic, but most customer projects use TypeScript, React, and Go. For cloud infrastructure, we usually use AWS, though some customers use other providers. You should have at least five years of experience with a larger web application stack, relational databases, and a modern frontend stack. Experience with our typical tools is helpful but not required. You should reliably deliver clean, well-tested code.

A typical week may include:
– Developing challenging user interfaces for web or mobile applications
– Designing and implementing a serverless API layer for a new web product
– Architecting and deploying cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
– Presenting new features to customers and stakeholders

**REMOTE WORK**

– Candidates in the USA with valid work authorization are preferred.
– Second preference for candidates in Canada, Uruguay, or Paraguay.
– Expected overlap of 4–6 hours on most days with US East Coast working hours.
– Digital nomads are welcome; your location is flexible.
