To perform this role effectively, the individual must be able to carry out each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements below outline the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
– Translate, review, and perform quality assurance on Telugu translation tasks.
– Conduct linguistic reviews and checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with style guides.
– Provide constructive feedback to translators and freelancers to help improve overall quality.
– Manage and maintain linguistic resources — glossaries, style guides, instructions — ensuring their accuracy and updates.
– Respond to language‑related questions from translators, project managers, and other stakeholders.
– Promote strong collaboration within the translation team by clarifying terminology, style issues, and linguistic concerns.
– Participate in onboarding, training, and development of new linguists and freelancers when needed.
– Contribute to the improvement and development of review and quality processes.
– Meet or exceed established quality and productivity metrics.
– Achieve goals set by the Squad Lead or Language Lead.

REQUIREMENTS

Education
– University degree in translation, applied languages, linguistics, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience
– At least 2 years of experience in translation, review, or localization.
– Native‑level proficiency in Telugu (India).
– Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
– Strong understanding of localization processes and review workflows.
– Proficiency with standard software (Windows, MS Office).
– Hands‑on experience with CAT tools (XTM, SDL Studio, Polyglot, MateCat, ATMS, fbCAT) and issue‑tracking tools (JIRA).
– Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new localization technologies.

Skills
– Strong attention to detail with excellent editing and reviewing abilities.
– Ability to provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Solid knowledge of terminology management in one or more fields.
– Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
– Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to handle a variety of linguistic challenges.
– Willingness and ability to train and support others when needed.
– Professional and positive communication with clients and stakeholders.
– Ability to thrive in a virtual, globally distributed team.
