Full‑time, permanent position
Location: Langley AFB, VA

The anticipated salary range for this role is $79,520 to $118,000. Final compensation may vary based on factors such as federal contract labor categories and rates, relevant experience, specific skills, location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, operate, maintain, and retire Linux‑based IT software including operating systems, configuration management tools, servers, and ISR applications, ensuring alignment with AF DCGS requirements
• Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve issues, and perform system administration for AF DCGS Test and Operational Enterprises, addressing moderately complex problems
• Apply security patches and OS upgrades to maintain system security and integrity
• Assist with new infrastructure projects and maintain accurate documentation for assigned changes
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Conduct daily system checks to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Linux systems
• Perform system reviews and preventive updates
• Configure Yellowdog Update Manager for Linux patch installation and testing
• Install software according to RFCs and TCTOs
• Review and update configuration files and documentation as needed
• Maintain Puppet and Satellite servers to support automated deployment of Linux VMs
• Collaborate with OEM engineers to resolve escalated issues, assess risks, implement fixes, and document solutions

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; prior DoD experience preferred
• Substitutions: Associate degree plus 7+ years of experience, or 9+ years of experience without a degree
• Ability to perform all functional duties independently
• Able to support senior team members when needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel if required
• Security+ certification (8570 compliant) required
• Linux+ certification preferred, in addition to the required 8570 certification
