NetProtect is a leading provider of consumer VPN offerings including IPVanish, SaferVPN, StrongVPN, and Encrypt.me, as well as SugarSync, a leading online backup service. We are excited to grow our team of world-class engineers, by expanding our network engineering team. We’re seeking a candidate with a strong Linux background but is comfortable with working in both traditional networking environments and with Linux based networking.
This role is ideal if you are:
  • strategic, self-motivated, creative, and are a highly communicative individual, capable of adapting quickly to a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • comfortable working with diverse and distributed teams
  • enjoy working in cross functional systems engineering teams
  • capable of performing standard network related tasks including
    • network monitoring and troubleshooting
    • bgp route optimization and traffic engineering
    • hardware firewall configuration and support
    • iptables and nftables configuration and support
    • VLAN, MLAG/VLT, Port-Channel configuration
  • able to manage infrastructure as code with the use of applications, scripts and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Terraform, and SaltStack
  • familiar with network security best practices
  • excited about a privacy first product
Job Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in networking with a strong Linux background and an advanced understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols
  • Experience with Arista, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet networking equipment would be an asset
  • Experience with Linux based networking and open source networking applications
  • Experience with OpenVPN and IPSEC VPNs would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Google) networking best practices would be an asset
  • Able to work with distributed teams
  • Able to work Independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to troubleshoot
  • Willingness to work as part of a 24×7 support team
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
