About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated, results‑oriented Marketing Manager for Japan to lead Matterport’s marketing strategy in one of our most dynamic markets. In this role, you will drive marketing pipeline growth, strengthen brand awareness, and support revenue objectives across Japan. As a key member of the International (EMEA & APJ) marketing team, you will design and execute marketing initiatives, work closely with sales and channel partners, and manage programs tailored to the Japanese audience. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, contributes individually, and can work both independently and collaboratively to maximize impact with available resources.
You will partner with the Japan Country Leader and sales team to grow Matterport’s presence locally while supporting the company’s global mission to transform the built world. This position reports to the Senior Director of International Marketing and requires travel within major Japanese cities. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential.
What You Will Do:
• Develop quarterly marketing plans in collaboration with the Japan Country Leader, ensuring alignment with Matterport’s global Promote/Operate marketing goals.
• Drive pipeline growth by working with global teams and agencies on paid media, and by creating and executing local campaigns, events, webinars, PR, and other conversion-focused programs.
• Support channel partners by developing and executing co‑marketing initiatives that improve partner engagement and sales, while managing the local MDF program.
• Build brand awareness in Japan through PR, events, and localized content such as case studies.
• Oversee the regional marketing budget to ensure optimal resource allocation and strong ROI.
• Apply analytics and KPIs to evaluate campaign performance and refine strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Sales teams (Country Leader, Account Executives, Channel Account Managers, BDRs) as well as regional and global marketing to ensure coordinated execution.
• Travel up to 10%.
Who You Are:
• A highly resourceful and independent marketer with at least 8 years of experience and a strong record of delivering impactful results in fast‑moving environments.
• Fluent in Japanese and English, with deep insight into Japan’s market dynamics, cultural nuances, and customer behavior.
• Comfortable managing weekly calls with teams in the UK, Singapore, and the US; experienced in both direct sales and channel marketing.
• Skilled in developing and supporting channel co‑marketing programs.
• Energetic, professional, and polished in communication.
• Strong writing, speaking, and presentation abilities.
• A collaborative team player who works closely with sales to understand their goals and challenges and translate them into pipeline‑ and revenue‑driving actions.
• Data‑driven, able to analyze performance metrics and optimize strategies accordingly.
• Experienced in digital marketing, demand generation, and event management, with a proven history of driving pipeline.
• Familiar with marketing and sales tools such as Groove, SFDC, and Marketo.
• Experience in the technology/SaaS sector is preferred.
